"Tonk"
Meet Tonk, a 10 year-old Quarter Horse/Percheron cross. Tonk and his rider Erin
were leading a group ride near Glacier National Park and got in the middle of a
grizzly bear hunting a deer. As the horses spooked and scattered, one of them ran
into the woods with it's rider, an 8 year-old boy. Tonk and Erin bravely charged
the bear three times as it went after the boy, managing to finally scare it off
and save the boy's life. Erin now owns Tonk- after that experience, they are bonded
for life!

"Dazz"
This is Dazz, an 8 year-old Saddlebred mare. In this picture we are taking off with
a skier hanging onto the rope which is attached to the saddle. This is called skijoring,
which is held in Whitefish Montana at the end of January. The horse and rider travel
a horseshoe obstacle course, while the skier maneuvers gates and jumps. It is a
blast. Dazz and I won 5th place overall for the two-day event. It gets us out with
our horses in the winter, instead of letting them just sit in the pasture during
the cold winter months. During the summer we go camping with the horses and do a
lot of trailriding.

"Fancy"
Fancy is a 10 year-old mare! She is a western pleasure trail horse. Very open minded
and willing to go anywhere we take her. We both learn something new each time we
ride because we always have a new experience.

"Doc"
This is Doc, he is a 16 year-old Belgian Draft weighing in at 2,000 lbs and standing
17 hands high. He was a carriage horse, a therapeutic riding horse and was given
to us as a pleasure horse because of his medical needs. Doc like me and my sister,
is an asthmatic. We ride English, Western, bare-back, and he pulls. Doc's a "Gentle
Giant", and even when it's negative 15 F he's always willing to work. At 20, I've
wanted a horse since the age of 3, I've never pictured a Draft and well now that
we have Doc I've realized size or color makes no difference. He is everything I've
ever dreamed of!

"Sarah"
This is Sarah, age unknown but most likely between 15-20. She is a Welsh Pony and
stands at about 14 hh. She was severely neglected when we got her, and now she is
a loving mare and "seeing eye horse" for our blind Appaloosa. For being neglected,
she has come a long way and is now more trusting of humans than we could ever ask
her to be.
