"Rosie"

This is Rosie. She takes such great care of my daughter who started riding at just 2 years old. Within a year she was showing in walk trot! This picture was taken at their first horse show together on Layla's 4th birthday. It takes a special pony not to be naughty with a 4 year-old.
Runners-up
"Snipper"

This is Snipper; he is a 20 year old TWH/QH/Paint mix. When he was born, the owner went to check on the mare, as it was dark all she could see was his white snip so they named him Snipper. I got him when he was 15. He has taught me a lot, and put up with me and all my mistakes over the years, always waiting for me to figure it out, even if it took a while. This is a picture from our first event-we placed sixth overall. He is truly one in a million.
"Classic Blue Stone"

This is Classic Blue Stone (Stone) a Quarter Horse. He is a trail horse and he is my best friend. I've heard a lot of people say their horse is their best friend and with this one, I can finally say that. He is quick to forgive and is patient with me while I try new things. He has challenged me and brought me to places I never thought possible. He has lifted me up when I needed it the most. He was a gift to myself and one I will cherish forever.

This photo was taken after a good ride this past summer...I was giving him a hug for being such a good boy when he turned his head and closed his eyes as if he were giving me one too. I also think it looks like he is smiling!
"Billy"

Meet CIMMARRON SUNRISE, aka "Billy", a 12 year-old purebred Arabian Horse with 2 Arabian National Championships in Tulsa OK, one in Cutting and one in Working Cow. They have just won their class!
"Faelyn"

This is Hanoverian mare, Faelyn, who gave birth to twin filly's last April. The filly's names are Bianca (black) and Barbie (bay).
"Chief"

This is Chief. He is a 10 year-old Thoroughbred and he rides western. I spend time with Chief every day. To me it is a kind of therapy. He is truly my best friend.
"Willy"

This is 16 year -old Standardbred Horse Willy. He was a rescue bound for slaughter, a local rescue group kept the kill buyers from getting him. He loves to drive, and is Sooo happy when he does – see his smile?! He is as sweet as the day is long.
"Farah"

Farah - 6 yr. old, American Warmblood Mare - does it all, Cowboy Dressage, Endurance - (She received High Vet Score her first race!), & she gives "pony" rides to the Grand-kids!
"Tuxedo"

Tuxedo is a 23 year -old Appaloosa mule. He came into our lives as a three-year old. Although we had been horse people for nearly thirty years, he was our first mule. He taught us a lot about patience, humility, and....humor! He was shown successfully in 4-H by my sons and he participated in game days. His quiet demeanor made him an ambassador for long-ears, and he disproved many of the prejudices folks have about mules. His favorite sport has always been trail riding, which is what he does now. Tuxedo is very intelligent and versatile. For example, he is well-trained to voice commands; I can send him sidepassing over a log from a distance of 15 feet just by suggesting it! “Tuxxie---I want you to go over to the log and sidepass to the right. Gee Over!” Mules are not just long-eared horses. They think differently. In all the 20 years I've had mules, I've never had the vet out for an injured or sick mule because self-preservation is the motto by which they live. In addition, once they have learned something they will never forget it. The self-preservation and long memory can be used to a mule owner's advantage, or can cause a lot of frustration if they've learned the wrong thing!
"Bandit"

This is Crash Bandicoot "Bandit", a 13 year old, Paint Pony who loves to do everything! After riding him on the trails and doing some mounted gaming up at camp, I fell in love with him. Right before our first show, I received a call that Bandit had been injured. I came to the stables and there he was, with a bandage wrap around his eye. Bandit was now the One Eyed Bandit and was removed from the riding program after having being saved from being put down by all the people who loved him. I half-leased Bandit to help with his cost and to rehab him. Although he lost his eye he never lost his spirit! The photo is from when I was training him for his first Judged Trail Ride, in which he received 4th in Novice horse. He dragged a tree branch on his blind side and everything!
